Hey there! Welcome to our profile. We are so glad you have chosen to hear our story and get to know us.
We are Tommy and Rebekah from the big ol’ state of Texas. We met as teenagers when Rebekah became friends with Tommy's sister. Over the years our paths would cross from time to time. We were on very different paths in our lives until about 11 years ago. That’s where the real story starts. One fateful evening the stars aligned, and we found ourselves enjoying an evening catching up and really getting to know each other for the first time. Rebekah saw Tommy not as her friends' brother, but as a man that is charming, funny, attentive, and smart! After two years of dating and one year being engaged, we got married! We just celebrated our 8th year of marriage.
We knew from the beginning of our relationship that adoption was the only way to grow our family together, so we have spent the last 8 years working hard and preparing for this day. Rebekah has children from a previous marriage, but Tommy had never been married before and has no children of his own. Tommy has been a wonderful father figure and role model for Rebekah’s children. He has accepted them, loved them, and supported them from day one.
We both come from very modest, working-class families, so we truly understand the value of hard work and education. Tommy is the manager of a forging company and Rebekah is a retail store manager. We both have flexibility in our positions to arrange our schedules as needed.
On the weekends we can usually be found hanging out at home, elbow deep in some sort of home improvement project. However we do love going out as a family and often enjoy activities such as visiting museums, deep sea fishing, boating at the lake, day trips to the beach, and lots of dinner and movie nights. When we get lucky enough to have a long weekend, we usually try to plan small get away trips with the children. Recently we took them to San Antonio to experience the river walk, wax museum, Ripley’s Believe It or Not, and the Alamo. We believe that children learn best through experiences, so we always try to include museums or historical sites as a part of our activities. As much as we love each other and spending time together, we also have individual activities we enjoy doing. Tommy loves doing anything that requires power tools, but specifically woodworking and fixing anything with an engine. He also loves fishing, hunting, and camping. Rebekah loves reading, home decorating, gardening, and of course shopping!
We are very happy with the life we have created. We have a comfortable home, wonderfully supportive family and friends, good careers, and two amazing children, but we feel we are not yet complete. We are so excited to welcome a special little one into our family. We are ready to share all the joy and excitement of raising a child together.
We live right outside the city limits in a rural subdivision filled with families that have children. Our home sits at the end of a cul-de-sac and provides a safe place for children to ride bikes and play. All the children on the block love to play on our street because there is no traffic. We have a community park in our neighborhood where you will always find families gathered and children of all ages playing. Throughout the year this park is also used for community activities from snow cone days to Easter egg hunts. There is a large city park only a few miles from our home where you can walk nature trails, play tennis or basketball, play on the playground, or even enjoy the splash pad on those steamy summer days. This park is a city “hot spot” and hosts many parades, festivals, and BBQ cookoffs throughout the year.
Life is uncertain and unpredictable. That is what makes it both beautiful and at times scary. We can’t promise that your child will never experience disappointment or a broken heart, but there are many promises we can make to you.
- We will love your child unconditionally for the rest of our lives
- We will provide a safe, happy home with plenty of room to grow and play.
- We will provide a large family full of tradition and adventure.
- There will be unlimited hugs, kisses, bedtime stories, and lullabies.
- We will raise your child with important values such as kindness, compassion, respect, and confidence.
- We will provide every educational and social opportunity your child desires.
- We will make sure your child proudly knows who they are and where they come from.
We are more than ready for the next step in our story. We want to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for taking the time to get to know us. We can’t wait to hear from you and learn your story. We just want to let you know that we are here for you and ready to help in any way we can. We want you to be as comfortable and confident with your decisions as we are. Thank you for considering our family.
