Dear Expectant Mother,
We want to thank you for reading our letter and hope this helps you to start to get to know us. We are in complete admiration of your consideration of adoption for your baby and view it as the ultimate act of kindness, selflessness, and love. Although we do not know you yet and what you are going through, we have genuine respect for you and wish you strength, courage, and peace. We want you to know that if you do choose us as your baby’s adoptive parents, we would always put your baby first showing, all our love and support.
When we married a long time ago, we dreamt of starting a family. We always talked about having a child and of adopting. We eventually found that we were unable to have children of our own, but hope we will be chosen as adoptive parents. Having a child will mean everything to us and to our families as well. We all cannot wait to shower a child with our love and attention and see a smile on their face every day.
We want you to know that your child would be surrounded by family that would love and adore them. They will have grandparents, aunts, uncles, and many cousins supporting and caring for them. Your child will very much enjoy being around our family and friends as they are a lot of fun, very open and accepting, and will love your child unconditionally as we will.
Your child will live in a nice home, in a great neighborhood that has outstanding schools where they will be able to feel safe and secure. We will do everything to provide them with every opportunity to pursue their dreams. We will do lots of fun activities like swimming, bike riding, skiing, and sledding. Chris is good at sports and can’t wait to teach what he knows. We will take them to see the Easter Bunny and Santa so they can take pictures with them (as long as they are not afraid). They will definitely go to Disney because every child should meet Mickey Mouse. If they decide to pursue a passion, playing a sport or creating art, we will support and encourage them to do so.
Your child will attend plenty of parties and we will celebrate their accomplishments and milestones such as birthdays and graduations. Holidays are always celebrated as well. Jen can sew and designs clothes, so she will make great Halloween costumes. At Christmas, we go all out decorating, baking, and making traditional food our parents and grandparents taught us. We hope to pass those traditions on.
We look forward to spending time together as a family just doing simple things as well, like watching movies, baking, playing hide and seek, reading a story, or hugging them when they are hurt or happy. When they are little, we will make them feel safe and loved. As they grow, we hope to teach them to have integrity, be kind, and to be healthy physically and mentally. We also want to teach them how to work hard, but smart, give guidance on how to succeed, teach them to be independent, make good decisions, and support them so they will have courage to pursue and realize their dreams. It’s our greatest wish to see your child happy and successful.
Jennifer & Chris
